Composers

Ritchie Lo

Founder/pioneer of Uptown Music, Ritchie is a veteran of the music industry. For the past three decades, Ritchie has been involved in all facets of music production, making him well-versed in both the creative and business sides of the industry. In the HK pop scene, he had been in the role of composer, arranger and producer; and worked with artists such as Andy Lau and Maria Cordero. He had also worked as professional manager in BMG Publishing HK. After founding Uptown Music, he has dedicated all his creativity to music production for the visual genre. Since then, Ritchie has amassed numerous writing credits in TV commercials, broadcast and documentary productions. Lyric writing is also one of Ritchie's many talents.

Mabel Ki

Mabel has been executive producer and managing partner with Uptown since 1994. For the past 6 years, Mabel has also joined the rank of the creative and is now one of the few (if not the only) female composers in the TV commercial production scene in HK. Before her involvement in the music business, Mabel had worked in TV broadcast, advertising and marketing. Her experiences have given her a unique ability to fuse musical creativity and marketing in Uptown¡¦s current projects.

Jackson Wong

Jackson started his career as a percussionist/drummer and orchestra or for film in Canada. He had been a resident composer with Uptown Music since 1993 and is now working as an independent composer under the Uptown affiliation network. He understands how important it is for a composer to have a certain chameleon-like nature, without losing his own voice. Jackson¡¦s distinctive writing style is recognizable through his favorites use of percussive techniques and bizarre effected Vocals.
